"Stapleton Road is quite a nice area"
James - You should get out and about a bit more mate!
And stop to consider *before* you post - the effects your gently negative comments have on reinfocing the negative attitudes towards the communities you make them about - when your very statement suggests you actually know nothing about them at all!
I lived yards from Stapleton Road station for many years and Bernard still lives in St Werburghs. And both are vibrant, friendly communities .... albeit with a few different issues from other parts of Bristol, but valuable communities nevertheless that don't deserve the comments and attitudes they often receive.
I also lived in Clifton for a few years - and I know damned well where I prefer!
It amazes me that, having spent many, many hours, making a film to promote what we presumably all believe in and desire, the first response of most people is critical and negative.
"Why did you miss out Redland?" (Because I erased the tape)
"Don't aggravate the cyclists!" (WTF! - It should be a railway line so we can ALL use it. And all get up North 20 minutes quicker.)
"Why is the sound quality so poor?" (Because we couldn't afford a decent microphone!).
I can count on the fingers of one hand the people who have said "Great, somebody (in no matter how amateurish a way) is doing something to promote our local railway.
Perhaps if people didn't just jump straight in with criticism and negativity of other people's efforts, we might *actually* get things done like re-opening Henbury and Portishead!
However, I do aplogise profusely for the dreadful song at the end of the film! Guilty as charged, I'm afraid ....
