What now for Bath Road?

I went to Bristol for the first time on the train in ages this weekend for my first ever visit to the AVR and had a good day behind D2994.

On the way back I took a couple of shots (through the window of my homeward bound HST) of where Bath Road used to be but of course it's completely gone, even the mounds of stone I saw last time.

Has any decision been made on what's going to go here?

Still in limbo since the Arena project was "ditched.
Typical local Council "cock up"!

I remember the Arena idea was eventually binned. Surprised it isnt 't already being built on for housing, just about every other spare plot of land is!

Not any more...there are plenty of housing developments that have ground to a complete halt.

How about a steam motive power depot on the site then all us enthusiasts can stand at the end of the platform at BTM and watch all the engine movements etc etc.
Sorry only dreaming but those were the days!!!!

If the city council can get the depot built by Thursday of this week we can see the King, Tangmere "resting" on shed and Oliver Cromwell calling in for servicing! Not a bad start for the "new" depot!

A depot for the units would be quite handy, certainly would save trying to shoehorn them onto the Marsh. Such a shame the railways weren't privatised differently.

Its not only a shame that our railways were stolen from us, but the guilty party knew what they wanted to do and they have done it giving our railways to thier friends because they are forward thinkers knowing that in the not so far future the railways will the big money maker. Why? because sooner or later cars for the masses will be history just like the stage coaches.
