A double dose of great news announced for commuters in the Bristol and Bath areas to announce! I heard this from the Bath Chronicle (www.thisisbath.co.uk)
1. Direct Bristol Temple Meads to London Waterloo services saved!
South West trains have announced that this service will once again be saved from the axe. Two diesels will be used daily from TM to Waterloo and back. All services will still call at TM, Bath Spa, Bradford on Avon, and Trowbridge. However! - they won't be running until June next year. Until then, there'll be a SWT service from TM to Salisbury.
2. Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour: Brand new rolling stock with 3 carriages instead of 2!
Eight brand sparkling new train unit leases will be underwritten for this currently overcrowded service.
This will be great to see as I've had several situations of being squashed into the vestibule end with a bunch of grumpy commuters. These trains will be in use before Janurary!
Great news, eh!
Anyone else know about this?
