FIVE IN COURT ON RAIL LINE CHARGES

Five men have appeared in court accused of conspiring to take hundreds of tonnes of steel railway lines belonging to Network Rail.British Transport Police said the attempted theft at Acton Turville could have caused disruption and delays to rail services.
Geraint Evans, Christopher Jones, Darryl Davies, Anthony Porretta and Brian Webb, all from South Wales, were accused of statutory conspiracy at North Avon Magistrates' Court in Yate and were released on unconditional bail to appear before Bristol Crown Court on October 19.
