Spoons 22-3-07

Post by MKC »

Two Cotswold Rail 47s were stabled at Temple Meads this morning

47810 (at the stabling point off platform 5)
and
47828 (in the siding next to platform 15)

Thats 9 47s I've seen in this area this month - not bad going eh?

Yep, we can't complain can we?

Just in case you're interested the siding next to 5 is called the "Loco Spur" it's officially called "Middle Spur 1" with the siding next to it (currently OOU (out of use) due to condition of track) called "Middle Spur 2". I guess if/when we get MS2 back we will start calling them Loco Spur 1 and Loco Spur 2.

The siding adjacent to Platform 15 is locally know as Bath Road (harking back to the days when it was the in road for Bath Road Depot. Sometimes on drivers diagrams it is shown as "553" as that's the exit signal number.

'810 is still there as of half 8 this morning.

Also sighted a Blue 47(?) going through ABW towards Bristol with two what looked like barrier coaches, dark green in colour. I couldnt really see as I was just getting out of my seat from the train as it went by.... :?

That'll be 5Z70 bound for Laira, stabled overnight on the Down Reception at Stoke. It arrived there this morning, about 1/2am; I can't remember where from!
