Electrification petition

Roger Ford of Modern Railways has started an electronic petition to submit to Downing Street. It requests the Prime Minister to re-evaluate a 1981 study on railway electrification and initiate a rolling national electrification programme.

Those who think they can endure the idea of ugly masts and catenery spoiling the look of our beloved Great Western, and making photography that much harder  , are invited to sign at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Electrify/

Now here's a chance to make an environmentally friendly railway. kettles powered by environmentally friendly wood chips farmed on the somerset levels, stations powered by wind turbines. the possibilities are as limitless as one imagination, and the chances of it happening, about zero. Dream on.
