I have been told by a collegue at work that there was once a station at Sydney Gardens in Bath. I have to say I dont know if there was or not as I dont know the area there very well but maybe someone here will.
If there was where about in Syndey Gardens was it?
The same person was quizzing me about a Hampton Row Halt which is another i know very little about so any information on either of these would be good so I can go into work on Monday with an answer

I think in the book The GWR Swindon to Bath Line by Colin Maggs has some info on the temporary station in Sydney Gardens I would think it would also have something on Hampton Row Halt.
Think Sydney Gardens was only open for the use by a Princess but cant be sure, I remember reading it was there because of the bad state of Bath Station.

I was wondering if the derelict building at the end of Hampton Row by the footbridge, in Bath is anything to do with the remains of Hampton Row Halt. I haven't checked out the Colin Maggs book yet.

From 'The GWR Bristol to Bath Line', by Colin G. Maggs:
"Towards the end of the nineteenth century many complaints were received about the state of the station and when Princess Helen made a visit on 13 June 1889, instead of her using the dilapidated structure, on arrival at Bath her train was drawn back on the Up line for ¢ mile to Sydney Gardens, where a special temporary platform in a beautiful situation awaited."
The book contains a photo of the reception.
