Roy (the green mile) and I have been "plotting" off group between ourselves about another meeting.

Does anybody fancy another evening of stopping some real ale going sour at the Barley Mow? A fortnight tomorrow, Monday 28th January, is looking like the favourite at the moment.

Any views anybody?

I am visiting the Panel Box that night with a party from Bristol Railway Circle, so I would be quite likely to drop in at the Barley Mow afterwards.

I'd love to join you, but fact is, I've not been at all well of late, so my attendance will have to be on a best efforts basis depending on my health on the day :

I've not been banned from drinking beer by the docs, but for the moment, I have given it up voluntarily to see if it aids my various ailments (it doesn't - it seems to make them worse!) It's ten days to go, so hopefully I will be out and about again by then, which if I am, I shall be there. More news nearer the time.

Sorry to hear that J but just think on that beer is one of the original health drinks. Remember the slogan 'Guinness is good for you', in moderation of course.

Hopefully Andy will encourage some of his mates along from the Circle. I have a vision of a Pub Railway Quiz - Archive versus Circle.

Roy Kethro (the green mile) tells me that he will not be able to make it on Monday.

In view of the limited response so far (a "yes" from Andy Kirkham and a "perhaps" from Jules ) we are wondering whether the meeting might be better postponed until a future date.

If you were planning to turn up on Monday please post a message!

The absence of any posts suggests that it would be likely that only Andy and myself would be turning up on Monday!

Nothing against Andy ( ) but given the circumstances it doesn't look like its worthwhile going ahead with the meeting this time.

Well, I'm glad to report I am feeling much recovered (must be the lack of beer!) but probably not well enough for a night on the town (well, The Barley Mow at least ... ) just yet.

How about a date for a few weeks time? I'm good for pretty much any date as officially off work at the moment due to the failing body.

I'll start the bidding again - How about Monday 18th Feb? I should be fully recovered by then ...

Mondays are usually OK for me and the 18th February would be no exception. So that's two down for the 18th

As that would take me out of town for t@wife's birthday, and I have become rather attached to my "bits" I'm afraid I'll have to sit that one out! I reckon Norton and I will be up for another foray south in the spring though.

Have to put me down as a definite maybe at this stage. It all depends on whether mother-in-law gets better (or much worse). The status quo is not conducive to my being able to come.

By the way Ralph, spring has been known to be half over by Feb 18th in the south. Presumably you mean spring up north.

Where does the South end and the North start? I've always thought Gloucester. Anything above there is distinctly foreign to me ...

When I was a young kid it was Filton, but I've expanded my horizons a little since then
