Just a final reminder that we are having meeting down at the Barley Mow this coming Monday evening, 26th November to finalise the plans.

Roy ("the green mile") and I have been working on the plans all week, and we now have something that we think is more or less right. If anybody would like to look at these plans prior to Mondy's meeting, please email me (my email address is on my "profile" page) and I will send you copies of them by email attachment.

As ever, anybody who wants to come along will be welcome, and anybody who knows anything about the layout at Bath Road especially so :)

Apologies I didn't make it last night guys. I had a very long day and was just too tired to come back into town. I hope it went well and you came up with the plans.

I was talking to a certain Mr Cronin on Sunday and told him of what was going on and why, to which he said "I can tell you what the place was like when I turned up there - it was a *expletive deleted* *expletive deleted* hole"!! :D

Anyhow, he said he wouldn't mind a look at what you came up with, even though he was much later there. If you could mail me a copy Roy, I'll pass it on to him and I wouldn't mind a look too, not that I ever went there very often.

Your absence was noted..... ;)

We've more or less got the final plan together, but we have a little problem in that nobody can so far confirm what the internal layout was towards the end. As Roy and I were both there in the 1970s/ 80s, we can "guarantee" the plan to about 1985. For example, Bruce Parkin sent word that what used to be the lamp room/ satchel room had changed by the time the place closed, but he couldn't remember the changes in enough detail for us to be able to incorporate them.

Its beginning to look like Andy will have to model the depot a bit earlier than he'd originally planned, unless anybody else like Mr Cronin can add anything t this late stage :)

Looking on the bright side, it's not often you can get a round of drinks in for six quid these days and I did have the last portion of beef and ale stew with horseradish dumplings - it were right tasty!

I'm not convinced that the old boy sitting quietly at the bar all night wasn't a spook from MI5.

Boy it's been quiet in here lately ... Must be Christmas :D

Thanks Roy for emailing the Bath Road plans. Mr Cronin was here today and he has taken them away with him with a promise to add what he can as to the configuration of the depot in the final days. He said a lot changed at the end from the usage of the rooms as per the diagram.

He also said that he has many pictures of the final days which he would be happy to lend me so I can scan them and post them here. Sounds interesting.

He also mentioned that a lot of the final days were filmed and somebody has compiled the films into a DVD that has just been publicly released - I am waiting for further info, unless anybody has spotted it already?

I have a few pictures of final days at Bath Road here tonight, courtesy of Mr Cronin. I'll try and scan this week and get them posted here ...
