Another loco comes to mind.

There used to be an old 03 at the Birds scrapyard on Stapleton Road. Anyone got a pic? I never saw it moving, but used to crane my neck every time I went past in a train to see if it was still there.

I remember the shunters at ICI, in fact Mike P and myself have been scouring the net for months now hoping someone, somewhere will have a pic of one to refresh our memories.

There's an article in this months "traction" magazine about the severn beach line. There is a colour picture of an ICI loco in there....and a nostalgic picture of W55033 at severn beach.

Just found this - must have been asleep when it was first posted!

The Birds scrapyard was at one time worked by a BR 03, I remember one leaving there while I was exercising the dogs on the green between Fox Road, the M32 and the line, probably 1979 or 80. Only time I saw any movement in or out of there despite living on Fox Road at the time.

I was thinking of a much earlier time period than that. I've been meaning to look into this loco for some time and finally got around to looking it up on the 'End of the Line' website. Seems D2123 was cut up in the Birds yard in November 1978. I can remember the loco as being there for many years previous to that date. Never saw it doing anything though, so it's no surprise that you saw a BR 03 doing the work instead of it.

I seem to remember the Bird loco as being painted bright (rusty!) yellow. I could be wrong about that though.
