This is the original forum of the Bristol Railway Archive that existed between 2003 and 2013. I finally rescued it after it seemed unrecoverable after a large crash. I have made it available for viewing. It is locked, all posts to the new version please!
Use this forum to talk about the railways in and around Bristol, or for any off-topic stuff you want to share. Also request photos and information that you are missing.

In 1917 the east curve was closed and then again reopened in 1918, the curve was then once again closed in 1927, and may have been lifted. With the demand on routes During WW2 the line was relaid/reopened in 1942, and was used untill 1950 when again it was T.o.u. And Finally lifted during the rationalisation of 1965.
Are you sure it was as late as 1965? I knew the line quite well from 1962 and don't remember it being there.
(Thats not to say it wasn't of course, just that I don't remember it!!)
There is a photo in Mitchell and smith's book dated 1960 that show the lines still in place, but very rusty, Im sure ive seen a later dated one too but cant put my finger on it right now.
