Several observations.

1/ some new signal gantrys being installed along limply stoke line between Bathampton and Dundas.
2/ King had a fire in yesterday (monday) parked in Barton hill. I suppose got back from day out or warming up for today.
3/ 67 top & tail mk2 stock heading towards wales through Pilning mid/late afternoon. heard it coming and by time took photo it had made some headway.

Nick you sure they are signal gantrys, there are some overhead power line gantry protection things for the river bank erosion/protection work in place, but havent seen any signal gantrys............unless they have appeared in the last few days then ignore what ive just typed

sorry about delay in reply, hard drive went wrong on pc.
Anyway about gantrys, you are correct about the railway company doing some work alongside K & A but I am sure I saw gantry ( 1 ) in kit form beside a fresh concrete base and a smallish crane. could have been some purpose other than signal gantry and I only saw the one. But what also made me think it was for signalling was that George pub car park had numerous westinghouse signaling vehicles at bottom, again they could have been working on cabinets by junction.
Saw a week ago just as you leave westbury station a very recent stumpy ( no pun intended

) signal on new base beside line that comes back to bath through limply stoke valley. Couldn't see what type it was from bridge I was on but from westbury station bridge it looked like a banner repeater, so wether part of a signalling project I don't know

I will be at claverton/bathampton again before the weekend I will go and look and take the camera with me too.
