I'm sure there are regular timings, certainly the same trains often seem to run in the same paths. Whether they're going to run on a certain day or at what time isn't easy to predict. They often run very late in either direction.

Do you have a certain day you're aiming to go hunting? I'm away for two weeks (bashing trains in Switzerland! ) but might be able to find some more information out for you when I'm back at work.

There is a scheduled 13:00 and 15:00 for aberthaw out of portbury and on wednesday and friday the car train runs scheduled to leave at 17:19.
However due to various reasons the coal never leave right time the car train is more reliable though as it has time penaltys attached to it.

I hadn't noticed the car train ran that regularly? Is it often cancelled or have I not worked many Wednesday / Fridays? When it does run it's often early...
