My favourite parts so far:

"Stapleton Road is quite a nice area"

"Ok, so you're a regular loser...user of this line"

"Stapleton Road is quite a nice area"
James - You should get out and about a bit more mate!

And stop to consider *before* you post - the effects your gently negative comments have on reinfocing the negative attitudes towards the communities you make them about - when your very statement suggests you actually know nothing about them at all!

I lived yards from Stapleton Road station for many years and Bernard still lives in St Werburghs. And both are vibrant, friendly communities .... albeit with a few different issues from other parts of Bristol, but valuable communities nevertheless that don't deserve the comments and attitudes they often receive.

I also lived in Clifton for a few years - and I know damned well where I prefer!

It amazes me that, having spent many, many hours, making a film to promote what we presumably all believe in and desire, the first response of most people is critical and negative.

"Why did you miss out Redland?" (Because I erased the tape)

"Don't aggravate the cyclists!" (WTF! - It should be a railway line so we can ALL use it. And all get up North 20 minutes quicker.)

"Why is the sound quality so poor?" (Because we couldn't afford a decent microphone!).

I can count on the fingers of one hand the people who have said "Great, somebody (in no matter how amateurish a way) is doing something to promote our local railway.

Perhaps if people didn't just jump straight in with criticism and negativity of other people's efforts, we might *actually* get things done like re-opening Henbury and Portishead!

However, I do aplogise profusely for the dreadful song at the end of the film! Guilty as charged, I'm afraid ....

Wrong line running ....

I told Ben the film editor that running the clip of the train at Lawrence Hill backwards would be noticed and attract attention, but he insisted it had to be played in reverse for "artistic" reasons.

I couldn't impress on him how very *wrong* this looked in a railwayman's eyes (absolute horror in fact), but he *insisted* nobody would notice.

So, stumpytrain, I'm glad you flagged it immediately on youtube.

Ben - I told you so!! LOL :D

Oops! The one thing I forgot to include in my post: Well done for making something to publicise the needs and possibilities of the local rail network, and involving the community in it as well. The fact that it is on such a widely-viewed medium as YouTube should mean that it gets seen by a very large audience.
