Nunney Castle + Bristol Explorer 26/7

Post by mow »

Has anyone seen any times for this Saturday's run with Nunney Castle to Bristol via Oxford and Badminton and back? There isn't a time posted on UK Steam, nor was there a time on the Vintage Trains website.

Any good spots for pictures on the run to and run from Bristol?

A few shots from Temple Meads this morning with Nunney Castle. Missed the light engine move through the station. :(

Went down to Corston to see it go by and it was making some strange noises almost like a "Pop------pop------pop------pop------pop" Not a noise I've ever heard a Steam loco make or associate with one...hope its ok

Could it be the Westinghouse air brake? They can be quite noisey.

Took a couple more shots at Temple Meads this evening. Not the best place to be light wise. :?

I saw it power up through box, belching black smoke,a fine sight, the smoke remained long after the loco had vanished into box tunnel about 4.00 p.m....I have pics....chippy.

I opted for the north side of the line near Kelston in the morning thinking that the sun would be more north of the line than south of the line at that time of day, but it wasn't!!

The best of a bad bunch from the morning run.

A couple from the hillside near Newton St. Loe in the afternoon.

Yes the sun wasn't in the best position and was initially quite hazy and sat directly over the line from Bath.... but cant complain after the last months of no sun it was nice to be out in it!
