Nearly missed it, they were a few minutes early!
Went over to Freshford, counted about 12 other souls with cameras at this spot. Weather didn't really get better on the return, and ended up with only one shot worth posting from near Monckton Coombe. Unlike James's pictures, my shots of the train are partially obscured by steam and smoke.

I was impressed with the playback quality of the Gary's video link James had posted. I wonder how the shots from other locations have turned out.
Incidentally, can someone tell me when Limpley Stoke Station was closed.

They're not mine! I just quoted them because, despite there being a "split topic" feature, there doesn't seem to be a "combine" one.
Here's my video attempt. I nearly fell over panning it because I wasn't ready...well she was about 20 mins early!!!
(address being changed...youtube is crap)

Managed to get to Sydney Gardens, Bath and the weather thankfully held off.
As mentioned before running early (about 10mins?), and fair play to the driver who gave a very long blast of the whistle Batheason way, which enabled a quick scramble with the camera.
Also watched the return leg at Bath Spa and typically an HST set pulled in at the same time still managed to get a few pics....unfortunatly light was rapidly fading and the weather not so kind....

Silent, elegant beauty.
The one thing that really impressed me about Tangmere was how quiet it was. When i took my pics of her on the way to bristol from Salisbury she was still accelerating but my goodness was she quiet. on the return run to Salisbury which i did not photograph as it was dark i nearly missed her, she was running early and again was so quiet. A two coach 158 went through just before her and made about three times the noise. http://www.flickr.com/photos/mao_zhou/393338850/
Sorry Pete. This kettle was pulling 11 coaches with ease and elegance and was beautifully quiet. i take my hat off to those who maintain her.

1- I could have caught her appearing around the bend if I had been ready.AJR wrote:Wow - that is an excellent bit of filming; spot on!!
2- There's a 20 degree list as I pan round, and
3- a massive wobble as I hit the other side of the bridge railing because I hadn't placed my left foot "where I wanted to be" despite practicing the move several times!
4- I am my own greatest critic
