Does anyone know what shifts the platform staff work at temple meads?
IE what is the earliest start time and latest finish time? is the station staffed 24 hours a day ie night shift?

The station is staffed 24 hours a day. Most shifts are 6-2, 2-10 and 10-6,
but there is some overlapping to make sure there are always staff on duty ready to despatch trains. The night shift despatches the empty stock movements out of the station, as well as the empty HST to Hereford, which leaves, or did when I worked it a few years ago, at 03.55.

When travelling early in the morning it has not been unusual to find the ticket barriers open prior to 7 a.m and also open late evenings after say 9 p.m.
