Voyager timetabled to stop at Yatton and Nailsea

Post by TheLastMinute »

With the current closure of the mainline between Weston and Taunton I was surprised to learn VirginÆs 0832 departure from Weston-super-Mare to Newcastle is still running. Normally this is the 0640 from Plymouth but for the next 3 weeks (Mondays except) the service is starting from Weston with stock coming ECS from Bristol.

Even more surprising is that itÆs booked to call additionally at Yatton (0840) and Nailsea (0845). I know this is occasionally done adhoc at the request of FGW when their preceding service is short formed but I think that this is the first time at a Voyager has been timetabled to call here.

The residents of Yatton and Nailsea have my sympathy.

Ya yes, but when you compare it to the preceding service which was a 2 car 143 that was already stuffed full when it left Worle, well then it's not so bad! Especially when you get a seat on the Voyager! :P

Any additional train to/from the Bristol area at peak times is welcome. :D
