Yatton signal box January 3rd 1949

Post by tugboatcharly2 »

:( Surfing I have seen the photos of the signal box on the last day of operation and it mentioned the 129 levers +5 blanks well! I polished every one of them every 3rd week on the night turn. Then of course one had to black and polish the frame on the morning turn I went into the box not being old enough to be a cleaner. :D although nine months later I was appointed a cleaner at Yatton to clean loco"s no1415,1463.5809,and what came round on the 5-20 ex Bristol via Frome normally a 45xx or 55xx to work the Wells service the next day.

They're great pics aren't they :D I love the fact that people have contributed so freely to the website to help make it ever more complete. 8)

I love your posts. Sounds like such a completely different world, and yet it wasn't -that- long ago really!

Yatton loco after 1960

Post by vilesa.freeserve.co.uk »

After Yatton closed in Aug 60, am I right in saying that the Wrington engine worked down LE from Bristol. Also how long did Yatton remain a signing on point for the Drivers working the DUM on the Yatton-Clevedon.
