Pete, there's a new member called "ch3ap t1ckets". This is a spambot that will fill the forum with adverts.

I'd delete him but my admin powers seem to have disappeared

I've deleted him.

This happened to me earlier in the year - for no apparent reason my account reverted from Admin to User.

No idea why this has happened - the last software update??

Anyway, you are now back as an Administrator.

There's been a lot of this going on of late, unfortunately. Been spending a lot of time deleting new members.

But they won't spam the forums. They can't post until they get Admin approval.

There's an extra step you can add into the sign-up process, where an image featuring random text is shown, and you have to copy the text into another box. This seems to stop the spambots joining!
