Can any of you modern traction enthusiasts help me out .
Back in the days of St Phillips marsh steam depot , approx 400yards down the line was the Marsh junction depot that housed the Pullman sets, multiple units etc.
Am I right in assuming that this is now known as St Phillips HST depot.
Not having been down near the fruit market/avonmeads roundabout area for a while my memory tells me it probably is.
I can remember the old steam shed main entrance was down by the bridge near the dogs home.
Our entrance[spotters] was up a set of steps by adouble bridge on the road that leads to Feeder road from the fruit market entrance.
Is that still there?
Are there any signs of those steps etc left.
If there are I will pop down and take a few photos for the archive.
Any ideas?

Marsh junction?
Re: Marsh junction?
Technically, Marsh Junction Depot is on the opposite side of the avoiding line to the HST depot. The entrance is right at the end of the Spine Road, right next door to a McDonalds. It is part of the HST depot infrastructure though.DAVE wrote: Am I right in assuming that this is now known as St Phillips HST depot.
Bristol Engine Sheds
Thanks for that info Pete.
I have been doing a little research in old locoshed books and I think Marsh junction depot came into being in mid to late 1962.
This ties in with the time of the Blue Pullmans etc.
Bath road steam depot closed to steam in late 1960 early 1961 and all its allocation was transferred to St phillips marsh.
I can remember steam mixing with diesels at Bath road into 1962 while the building of the new depot was taking place although no steam was allocated to the depot after early 1961.
The first diesels allocated to the shed were Peaks numbers D33-D42.
