Flying Scotsman went up light engine, the moguls had a couple of panniers on the back when they brought the train in from Ilfracombe.

Nice pic! I wonder how Network Rail would feel if they had to maintain trackwork like that nowadays..

Anyway, for those that were there watching the train in the flesh... I was exactly two days old...

I don't think they know where to start! It is surprising looking back at old photos just how complex the track was at comparatively minor places such as Yatton.

I was 10 3/4 - first time I did Exmouth Junction, copped 65 steam engines

To annoy James that included several Merchant Navies and plenty of light pacifics

i been trying to workout from the pictures on the site of present day yatton if any where taken from approximatly the same place to see how the station has changed today... anyone got any pics?

I was reading through some books over the weekend regarding branch lines in Somerset and came across one (can't remember the title or author at present) which mentioned that there were two short spurs off of the WVLR, one which went to Blagdon/Yeo pumping station and the other which went to the grounds of Coombe Lodge. It's easy to locate the branch to the pumping station on the aerial photo's and old-maps.co.uk, but I was unable to find the branch to Coombe Lodge. Does anyone know where this was, or if it was built?
