Old bath road

Post by Dean »

When are they going to get their act together and finaly start building this new stadium/concert hall? I was at temple meads yesterday and looking around the place with the old royal mail building looking like it could collapse any second and piles of bricks from the old bath road sheds it was quite depressing :(

I believe the Royal Mail building has been bought and has planning permission for new use, so it's situation may change quite quickly. I keep meaning to stop and get a photo of it from Feeder Road. In the early to late morning it is lit up by the sun in such a way to make a really nice photo from that angle. Trouble is I'm always in a rush... better get it soon though, be too late otherwise.

As to Bath Road, last I heard, and I'm not sure how accurate this is, but the whole stadium project still doesn't actually have the necessary planning permission. So the site -may- stay the way it is for some time yet.

Talking of Bath Road. Does anyone have a photo of the entrance to the depot on Bath Road rather than a photo of the locos on shed? I must have passed it a thousand times, and stood next to it on quite a few occasions while getting the classic shot of Temple Meads from up there, but alas, I never pointed my camera at the depot entrance. I need one for the website !
