Christmas Meet?

Post by madhattie »

Anyone fancy meeting up for a Bristol Railway Archive christmas gathering?

A quick beer/coffee/tea at Temple Meads and a walk round the station taking pics of the trains?

Fancy putting some faces to the names?

If you don't fancy Temple Meads then perhaps we could meet at Jules pub? (if he'll have us!)

Anyone up for this say 'I' in the poll!

If enough people are up for it I'll do some proper arranging nearer the time.

I'm provisionally up for that! Class 45 haulage for 12 quid. Brilliant! I'll need to check my work diary when I'm there on Friday though and see if I'm free.

But, (he said, thinking aloud) for a first time meet, and because I'd like to try and get a few people to turn up, I think I'd rather stick with the idea of a meet at Temple Meads. That way the only expense is in getting there, plus if people are a bit shy, or simply don't like me (us!) they have an excuse to pop out and get away.

Severn Beach would be good: 't'is many a long year since I worked a bubble car over the branch to watch the shimmering summer sun sink slowly over the silvery sands of Severn Beach

Well, five of us is enough for a mini-meet 8)

And a trip to Severn Beach seeing as all (so far) are in favour.

We need to arrange a date. But I imagine if it's going to be a christmas meet we can leave that open for at least another month?

Certainly up for a Peak to Exeter.

Trip to Severn Beach is fine by me, too.

If there are enough of us, maybe Avon Valley would do a charter with the 07? Perhaps a boat trip as well may be over the top!

Sorry guys, as much as I'd like to go to Exeter I'm meant to be going to uni that day so I'll probably have to wait a year for that one...same for Severn Beach I'm afraid as I have a blasted dissertation to write and hand in very soon!

Maybe next year though - if you're planning a summer meeting to SB, I'd like to tag along :)
