"Midland engines" could be interpreted as a generic term referring to Midland Railway, LMS and BR (Midland Region) locos. Some locos spanned all three eras. The latter two could also include locos from other pre-group companies such as the LNWR etc.

Still got fingers crossed for next Monday. Almost got trapped in East Dorset by the snow yesterday.

Are we on for tonight?

I can probably make it, but I'm 50/50 to be honest if others can't attend, as I now have a doctor's appointment first thing in the morning.

Probably best not to turn up smelling of Bristol Beer Factory's finest ... :D

Let me know via here ...

Are there others coming for sure? Looking unlikely for me really ...

Apologies for not turning up but everything conspired against me. Very late coming back from Mother-in-law's last night then had to unload and unpack a large delivery at work today. Nightmare traffic coming home down the M5 through the roadworks at J20 and just expired in the armchair before I even got round to eating. Woke up just now wondering where I was. I think Monday evenings are out of the question for me.

Andy and I turned up - I've just got home and I suspect Andy beat me to it, living rather closer than I do!

It might be best to schedule the next meeting for when the 55E men are on a "double-home turn" again - that way we'll have a "captive audience" :)
