Adding Pics

Is there a 'preferred method' for adding pics - direct to topic or via a link ?
If adding direct is good can anyone advise the method ?

You can add them to the topic using a website link and Img tags

[img]http:// etc [/img]

But if they are bigger than 800x600 it's better to just post the link as large images stretch the board and take ages to load!

So if Ive just done an image in paint how do I get other people to see it?
