This is the original forum of the Bristol Railway Archive that existed between 2003 and 2013. I finally rescued it after it seemed unrecoverable after a large crash. I have made it available for viewing. It is locked, all posts to the new version please!
Nice set, as usual. As to the rain holding off, I guess it depended upon which part of the platform you were standing. It was plenty wet at my end!
I took some film which will hopefully look better than what I took of Britannia earlier, as it went through Ashley Hill. Very poor use of the zoom by me, far too close.
However, I will upload both to youtube once my PC has got over the shock ...
Incidentally, according to the time-table I had, it was 35 minutes late at Patchway. However, according to their official tweet, it arrived in Hereford 6 minutes early!
The Tornado charter was the only train allowed through the tunnel at Chipping Sodbury this morning. All other services were diverted via Bath. The staff at Bristol Parkway were very helpful keeping us up to date on the progress of the train. As soon as we saw the tanker at Bristol Parkway we were assured that Tornado would make an appearance.
I was a little cautious on hearing that Tornado was to be repainted into blue but now .....I just love it!! <BJ>

Returned again in the evening via a rather soggy C. Sodbury tunnel. <BJ>
