Lots of hanging around in Taunton...after I've finished work...I like it! :D

It would be nice to see her being watered at Frome though...

It was a fine trip. I've always wanted to travel by steam out of Paddington and into the West - a King leaving from Platform 3 was just like it would have been in the good old days - electrification mast the only 'giveaway'!

Run was smooth as silk - good fast run over Brewham summit down to Taunton, and aggressive climb of Whiteball in both directions. Water stop at Frome - a great place for photos if you can overcome the fence problem at the west end beyond the station. A GWR loco under the overall roof is as authentic as it gets.

On the Kingswear line we crossed the service train with 060PT no 6435 in each direction. D2192 did the shunting of stock at Kingswear.

I must admit I would love to see a King making a spirited getaway from Paddington. 8)

I like the fact that the drivers (and firemen) on steam tours really seem to give it some welly! I love watching (and hearing!) them coming up Filton Bank. Very impressive.
