It cost me a quid to get across the toll bridge at Bathampton but I got the pics!

The station was completely demolished when the junction was modified for higher speeds. I couldn't find any remains, although I believe the chimney in the third pic is the old Station Master's house.

Frome is a lovely old station. Not so easy to get a decent photo from the west, of a rare loco hauled working, because the fantastic train shed goes almost up to the end of the platform, making it hard to get a legal vantage point.

Yesterday I was on a steam special behind King Ted from Paddington to Kingswear - stopped for water at Frome as is quite common for steam specials. It used to be possible to go out of the station and stand on piles of wood in nearby Jewsons (as long as no-one minded but no-one did seem to mind), and look over to the station, but other things are there now, which you certainly can't stand on. You'd have to clamber up a wire fence, or much preferably use a step ladder. Even then, the ugly palisade fencing erected by the railway blocks a clear view of the engine wheels.

Train photography gets ever more difficult!

It's a shame you can't get to the disused down platform...it's really long and would offer a good AND safe vantage point.
