This is the original forum of the Bristol Railway Archive that existed between 2003 and 2013. I finally rescued it after it seemed unrecoverable after a large crash. I have made it available for viewing. It is locked, all posts to the new version please!
Use this forum to talk about the railways in and around Bristol, or for any off-topic stuff you want to share. Also request photos and information that you are missing.
Hi everyone, I have a very rare, genuine class 22 diesel hydraulic brass builders plate (mint condition) for sale. Anyone interested please let me know.
Now I know we didn't exactly find these locos to be particularly reliable but if this plate came from an actual loco, it must have been pretty lucky to have survived in 'mint' conddition. No bumps or scrapes?
Its from D6330 , it was removed whilst at St Philips Marsh sidings, waiting for removal to Swindon for scrapping back in 71 . Its the best plate we removed, ( with permission of course, not stolen) will get some photos loaded .

You must have got there just before I did!
Seriously, if we could have a pic to see exactly what plate it is, we might be interested for the D&EPG archives. We almost bought a whole loco (D6319) before Swindon went and cut it up by mistake!
