Bristol City Council have just launched a new website which lets you compare how a particular location appears on various maps from 1828 to 2010. You can zoom in and out and switch between maps. You can also identify listed buildings, ancient monuments and other landscape features, and these are linked to images and descriptions.

Entitled "Bristol - Know Your Place", it can be found at http://maps.bristol.gov.uk/knowyourplace. Hours of fun can be found here.
