Not. Bad to lonely forget or halt as it was 63 years ago I last work that bit of line.

Trains from avonmouth royal Edward yard to South Wales ran to piling low level run round then backed up to the main line. At Severn beach station there was a level x and the line went on to piling.there was a siding off the branch to serve a pump house and a halt I think was called new passage.

As a young fireman I worked aa 4/25 temple meads right round the circle aia Clifton down and piling low. Level up to patch way then back down to temple meads.

avonmouth was the place to be.! good grief what would elf and safety do now.any how happy new year to you all.

i believe the announcer was a driver on other ill health duties pity i cannot remember his name when we have our monthly gathering i will ask our own memory man

i have often thought how the movie buffs worked out one type of loco enterd the tunnel and came out with a different one it !!!! british films with trains in the scenes are rubbish so spoils any film for at least railway men.

in 1952 i use to catch that train to return to longmoor military railway via padd and waterloo there was ticket inspector on that train who was a very good man when checking my ticket he always asked after my dad with whom he worked with before the 2nd world war.the train by the way was heavey ...

in the general appendix the headlamp instructions are laid down and the correct position is on the top bracket.yes sometmes lazyitus came on and we put the lamp on the lower bracket. on the clevedon branch we were allowed to put the lamp on the lower bracket why? because we had to put a red shade in ...
