I unfortunately missed opening of tunnels but perhaps that wasnt such a bad thing looking at volume of visitors. I did see some footage on facebook and am keen to explore. On the subject of noises at midnight, My inlaws lived at Shirehampton for a period of time and always at midnight newyears eve most of the people from other side of street would come out of their houses and bang pots and pans for a couple of minutes. Funny lot. :lol:

I was gutted to miss Tornado this afternoon. I had just parked up by canal at Bathampton and heard train going past. i could see trail of steam through trees and mk1 coaches. weather was perfect as the photos of mow and chippy show.

Actualy was pretty much spot on at pilning then, the clock in my car is quite a bit out and forgot to take that into consideration. :oops:

Nuke train fail in bristol

The nuclear flask train had to stop in BTM today. A technical fault on one of the 37s meant the operators had to switch the 37s around and the flask proceeded shortly after.

Re, charity walk the entire line was closed to movements once the dmu had brought walkers up from mineheadand would remain so until a set time when it would proceed up line to collect stragglers from the intermediate stations where they should muster if they thought they would not reach the end ...

Robin says quite correctly that what the picture shows may not tell the full story. I bring to view that the WSR had a charity walk from wiliton to bishops lyd, anyone not in the know would have thought there was a mass tresspas on the running line ...
