Starting Something Big at Bristol

I came across this book at the weekend, published by the author / Past Track Publications apparently released in the summer.

A fascinating account of the 1970's Bristol Resignalling project, with diagrams and photos.

Has anyone else come across this volume?

I know I am preaching to the converted, but why hand back trains at the end of the lease when there is overcowding and demand. Any other business would re-lease such assets.

Of course the article doesn't mention how many trains are parked away at Long Marston.

Do a Virgin / GNER and run the system ...

A better walking / cycling route from TM to the City Centre, would be good.

Whenever I arrive by train for business meetings, I feel that I am taking my life in my hands crossing the roads, even where there are lights.

I have but need to find them. Then I need to scan them!

I will see what I can do but don't hold your breath.

From memory there are three, one with Peak, and two of the station nearing completion back in 1972? All are B/W.

uumm...I have some photos taken back in 1972 I think, when the original Parkway was first built. They will make an interesting comparison.

Of course there were no canopies in those days either, just bus shelters and a booking office with a footbridge.

No doubt others remember too?

Hope the baby's all right.

I remember seeing the 03's with match wagons.

However it is a long time ago so to be exact is difficult.

Conflat L former cement container wagons or possibly the old GW shunters wagons with tool box are what I would imagine were used?

Unless you know better!

Bristol Bath Road Depot

Hi,

I am researching into Bath Road depot as it was in the 1960's and 1970's.

Whilst I now have quite a selection of views from books and from this site, if anyone has any elevation plans of the buildings, and/or photos from this period, please get in touch.
:D

PS Great site!
