Partly yes. The ferrybridge contract comes to and end and Eon have purchased coal that was bound for Didcot to go to Rugley instead but this is just a short term contract. There are more trains for Aberthaw planned to run out of Avonmouth as Newport docks cant handle the extra traffic.

You will need to be up early as currently they run from around midnight to the last one leaving 10:50. The other departure slots for them are 06:55 08:30. DBS will continue running the 6E86 Ferrybridge service untill the end of the month then this switchs to Avonmouth Bulk Hnadling Terminal.

They are for a community garden for the local community to use to grow their own veg. A temporary thing untill the land is built on.

Does anybody remember - must have been during the mid to late 90s I guess - when a regular station announcer at TM was a lady with a Russian accent? I wonder who she was and what happened to her ...

I always enjoyed her pronunciation of certain place names - it used to make me think I was setting ...

It is old news Bristol Panel will eventually disappear opening up parts of the Old Station for newer trains. Interesting thing is St Andrews Box will remain long after Bristol goes.

Spare a thought for those who work for them. Its not just drivers they are short of ground-staff are low in numbers aswell. So much work has been handed to the other freight operators as well.

Although ASLEF and DB have reached an agreement on the Free day working. It is my understanding that there have been conditions attached to it and that DB will not just be booking Drivers out to cover cor work as this was what the dispute was over relying on Drivers to fill in for the lack off ...

Was it the gates or was it their anti car bollards that are placed next to the lines at Portbury. The usual automatic gate has been forceably removed ! Not sure how or why but its nothing to do with the red teams trains.

The aslef/ DBs dispute was settled about 2 weeks backwith everything all tidyed up by Friday 28th sept. They (DBS) will still claim its down to this .
