The Bristol Railway Archive

After many, many hours of trying I (and a few others who have tried) have given up on trying to restore the old forum. It seems that either the database is corrupt or simply will not work with the current configuration of php and mysql that my hosting company are using. I really have tried until I am sick of trying.

So I have decided to install this new forum. I appreciate it is a bit rubbish when what has been lost is taken into account, but at least it gives a way to move forward if people so wish.

All previous accounts have been lost, so anyone who wants to use the board will have to re-register. All registrations have to be approved by Admin, so don't worry if you can't access the board immediately, I'll approve you as soon as I can

It has also taken me two days to get this version to work, the admin settings take some getting used to to say the least.

This also means that all may not work properly straight away, and I may need to tweak in the coming weeks to get it running smoothly. But fingers crossed.

So... Welcome to the new Bristol Railway Archive forum! And apologies once again!

Thanks for getting this back up and running, it was sorely missed!.

Cheers, I think it will take quite a while before it's of much use, but at least there's something working again.

Thanks for all your hard work

As a regular viewer but rare poster in the old forum I thought this resource might have been lost for good
So I thank all those involved in getting this "new" site back up and running
I'm sure as the news spreads more will come

It must be so frustrating to have lost what had been posted over the years. It is a blessing that the photographic record of the lines in and around Bristol have not gone.
