I note there are two trains to Shrewsbury tomorrow, one from Slough and the other from Eastleigh. The latter, hauled by Tornado, is via Swindon, Gloucester & Chepstow, which is reasonably close to the area, but the Black 5-hauled one is via Swindon, Bristol Parkway & Patchway, which is possibly better.

However, they appear to be scheduled through Swindon within 2 minutes of each other -- I'll be intrigued to see if that turns out OK.
