Sixty years ago there was a miniature railway in the Blaise Castle estate. (I think this has been mentioned in a post some years ago).
Were there any other miniature lines in the Bristol area please?

There was one at Severn Beach to the north of the village and one at either Clevedon or Portishead near the seafront, if it can be called that. There was one at Weston at the south end of Beach Lawns and I think the track was still there a few years ago.

Avon Valley Country Park between Keynsham and Saltford which is still operating I believe. I ended up as a volunteer driver about 6 years ago having visited the then owner, former Bristol HST driver Mike Bass. I and a few others left when Mike sold up to the park owners. There was talk of rejigging the track layout for more flexibility by including facing points. Mike had been very shrewd in designing the layout with just trailing points.

I can vaguely remember one in the Blaise area. Was it possibly in Canford Park?

The only other one I can think of in the Bristol/North Somerset area is at Ashton Court where the model engineers run their trains.

A bit further afield, the Bath and West Showground near Shepton Mallet has one also run by the local society of model engineers.

I think the Clevedon one is still going.At least the track was still there in January of this year.

There was indeed one in Canford Park.

The Weston one has now been removed.

Also a bit further afield, but reasonably local, are the West Huntspill Model Engineers who have a track at their site at New Road, West Huntspill. (nr Highbridge)
