Thornbury

I'm curious about the signalling arrangements at Thornbury.
Despite being quite a large and well-equipped terminus, it would appear that for most of its life the branch was worked One Engine in Steam. It is reported that there had been a signal-box there originally, but that it was closed as early as 1886 (replaced by a ground-frame), but it does not appear on the 1880 OS 25" map nor does that map mark any signal posts. Overall, information seems to be very scant.
Can anyone add anything please?
