Purely FYI. Just found out about this:
Brickfields Park Bath
Tickets; www.relishrunningraces.com/bath-two-tun ... -races.php
Public ┬À Anyone on or off Facebook
A truly special race along old railway tunnels which head under the city of Bath. We have different races, and routes available on different dates;
27th Feb: Half, 10km, 5km, Colourburst
8th May: Half, 10km, 5km, Colourburst
10th July: Half, 10km, 5km, Colourburst
21st August: Colouburst, 5km, 10km, Half Marathon, Marathon, 50km Solo, 50km Pair, 5 x 10km Relay
The Somerset & Dorset Railway closed in 1966 and until April 2013 the tunnels have been sealed and inaccessible. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Two Tunnels Group and Sustrans over 7 years, the two tunnels now have a new lease of life as a shared use path. The first tunnel; The Devonshire Tunnel is 408m long and the second Combe Down Tunnel is 1672m long. Both tunnels are well lit and well surfaced, and have recently been converted into a shared use path for the enjoyments of runners, walkers and cyclists looking to make the most of the city whilst remaining a flatter ground.
Our race village is in a green park in the city complete with children's playground and table tennis table, a great spot to sit and enjoy a picnic after the race. We off set all the CO2 produced in relation to all our events, including runner travel to and from the races, by planting trees.
