I've just come across a short movie of the Weston, Clevedon & Portshead. I had no idea such a thing existed.

A school friend's father told us once how he travelled on the line and one day jumped out of the train, picked some flowers in the lineside field and was able to get back on as the train moved so slowly!

The late Jack Burrell told the following Weston, Clevedon story:

One evening a lady arrived at the GWR station in Weston-s-Mare trying to get to Clevedon only to be told that she had missed the last train. The porter said she could go to the WC and P ......and she reported him for it!

Mr. Burrell added that he thought the story apocryphal as it was very unlikely that the last train to Clevedon on the WC&P was ever later than the last GW service.
