82E shed photos.
Afternoon everyone, do any of you have any photographs showing the buildings on the 'northern' side of Barrow Road shed (the side where the carriage shed once was)?.
Thank you
.
Thank you

Re: Class 40s
Class 40s were fairly regular visitors to Bath Road in the 1982-83 period.
They'd work light from Hereford (or STJ (?)) with a Hereford crew, and return north with 3S15. I have several shots on Flickr showing some of them, and audio too

A Clan in the area, July 9th 1960.
Hello everyone,
I've just seen a post on Facebook of 72005 climbing the Lickey on an SO Paignton - Newcastle working (M314).
Apparently it made news in one of the Bristol Newspapers at the time.
Do any of you know where she came onto the train, and how she made her way south prior to this working ...

Re: Somerset & Dorset closure.
Thank you Robin.
Sadly the link doesn't seem to open. On re-reading the text of the image, I'm wondering if indeed it was the SR who'd put forward the closure of the S&D?.
It's reads (to me) as though the WR had instigated it (as a commonly-held belief), and that the text in the image pertains only ...

Somerset & Dorset closure.
Good afternoon everyone,
Today marks the 55th anniversary of the closure to the S&D as a through line.
I remember reading in the previous incarnation of this forum that the closure was actually instigated by the SR and not the WR.
Scans of paperwork were posted too. Robin Summerhill might remember ...

Re: Filton Coal Yard pre-1984.
Are you on Facebook? The Bristol Railway Enthusiasts Group has some photos taken at Filton by Mike Goodfield of class 22s at Filton in the 1960s.
I know Mike posted these elsewhere and they were subsequently lost when the site closed (fotopic possibly)
cheers
Afternoon 'Rivercider',

Filton Coal Yard pre-1984.
Good morning everyone,
Do any of you have any images, or know of links that show the area of Filton Coal Yard from before the main lines were reduced from four to two tracks?.
Thanks in advance.
Very Best Wishes,
Bob.
