Re: Special which visited goods only lines
Ah, good call! Fairly sure it was this one in 2007: https://www.sixbellsjunction.co.uk/00s/070603nr.htm I think you could perhaps buy tickets for certain segments or maybe you could opt out of some journeys, because although I recall Portbury, Tytherington & Severn Beach, I have no memory of Bath, o...

Special which visited goods only lines
Can anybody recall a special train which, probably on a weekend, visited various lines around Bristol not usually open for passenger services? It was possibly at least 20 years ago, I was on it, but can't recall exactly where we went, though I have memories of being on the line to Portishead (as far...

Tornado to Cardiff on 10th December 2019
True story about my trip to Narroways Hill Junction, near Ashley Hill, to film Tornado on its way to Cardiff today. Conditions were, as expected, poor, with occasional rain and strong winds. There was only one other punter waiting. I was able to track it thanks to Real Time Trains, and I knew it was...

The latter, hauled by Tornado, is via Swindon, Gloucester & Chepstow, which is reasonably close to the area, but the Black 5-hauled one is via Swindon, Bristol Parkway & Patchway, which is possibly bett...

Re: The Christmas Cheshireman
I filmed it from Narroways Hill yesterday morning, and although it was about twenty minutes too early for the best light, it was still an interesting experience. Just me and one other present.

Re: Kelston Station
Thanks, that makes sense. I shall have a look myself next time I'm on the path!

Kelston Station
It's good to be back, thanks! I was looking at a photo of Kelston Station, as it was, and trying to work out exactly where it would be on the Bristol to Bath Railway Path. Can anybody indicate, using this recent image from Google maps? https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48928464101_9d1108d9d9_k.jpg
